Makoto Shimojo

Makoto Shimojo received the B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Univ. of Electro-Communications in 1973, and the M.E. Eng.degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1976.

He was received Dr. Eng. degrees from Univ. of Electronics communications in 1993. From 1976 to 1992, he was a Senior Researcher at Industrial Products Research Institute, Tsukuba. From 1993 to 1997, he was a Senior Researcher at National Institute of Bioscience and Human Technology, Tsukuba, Japan. From 1985 to 1986, he was a visiting Scholar at Stanford University, U.S.A. From 1997 to 2000, he was an Professor of Computer and Information Sciences at Ibaraki University. Since April 2000, he has been a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Systems, at the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan. His primary areas of interest are mechatoronics, tactile sensing system and human interface using tactile information.
